Kitchen exhaust cleaning can be
a very successful business when the customer is treated right and
professionally. You will find after a few jobs that it is a simple
process with great returns on your labor. Selling replacement parts
is also a great means for boosting profits. In most cases the bad
parts may be removed for the cleaning process and installing a new
component won’t add any additional time to your job. With
the proper chemicals
your job will move even faster.
Make sure hoods, grease filters, and exhaust fans are being cleaned
on a regular basis. Fan bearings should be lubricated and belts
inspected and replaced as needed. Make sure your customers understand
your cleaning process and show them your cleaning equipment. Always
have your customers inspect your work for final approval. Offer
your customers before and after photos of the work being done. By
keeping your customers on schedule with a regular cleaning service
you will be better able to project your future profit and growth.
Be certain your cleaning is in compliance with local and state codes.
You may recommend removing any obsolete grease containment systems
such as old grease boxes, plastic buckets, and other parts that
may be contributing to grease contamination. Offer to remove any
excess grease from around the outside and base of exhaust fans,
and remove any grease spillage from the exterior of the fan. Our
525 kitchen and
hood cleaner is a great chemical for removing build up. This
product is very effective against that hard substance created by
oriental cooking. Using a hot
water pressure washer is the most effective way for cleaning
any kitchen hood. Offer to replace the above with a proper grease
absorbent pan system that is specifically designed to catch and
absorb grease. Make sure this equipment accommodates replacement
filters that can easily be changed by you in the future. The filters
should be 100% waterproof. For existing contamination problems in
the roofing system always refer your customers to a roofing expert
or contractor. Most companies will offer free inspections and good
advice to your customers making them appreciate you more.
